The department has received a donation of money. The Department of Anesthesiology, Pain and Perioperative Medicine in the School of Medicine, will use these funds under the direction of Drs. Crawford, Tanaka, and Macario to support Global Health experiences and exposure among Stanford Anesthesia residents. This will help enable residents to provide needed medical and education resources in underserved areas internationally and help train the next generation of anesthesiologists in the importance of global medicine. First priority for the funds will be for travel and other expenses for residents dedicated to trips that have some component of education, capacity building or global health research project. The next priority will be allocated to service-based “mission” trip. Interested residents will apply for this funding including a written essay as to how they plan to incorporate global health into their future careers.
